Curious about an online game nickname (Anouk), I have searched the internet and I have found Anouk.
"That's me in the corner / That's me in the spot". A very good live REM "Loosing my religion" remake took my attention and I started to search for her music downloading some of her songs one by one. After Nobody's Wife that made me continue searching, I downloaded "Michel" too...
Well... this song made up my mind. Definitely, I must see an Anouk concert. Her website is pretty good in information and you may find out a lot of things about her. I took courage to post here some of her photos. All credits belong to their owners. Have fun and listen Anouk...

The Word Wide Web is an unlimited source of information that must be taken into consideration. In the last 5-6 years those who came for the first time online searched information using search engines ilke Yahoo! Search, MSN Search or Google. Those who own a higher internet literacy started to use free (or payed) online encyclopedias or dictionaries. Why? The answer is in the title of encycopedia.com: Because knowledge is cool ;).

If you google search Encyclopedia you can find more than 40 billions of results in any field expertise you need.
Talking 2 days ago with one of my old friends he gave me The Free Dictionary Encyclopedia and I must tell you that it's a fantastic pice of work! It's a must_be_bookmarked website! Searching for domain name register date i have found June 2003 as its creation date.

Unknown DJ from Spain becoming a star across internet in 24 hours.

Music is something you can't avoid. Being a computer-guy I listen a big variety of music from different sources. Radio is one of my powerfull source. Yesterday, I have found that a DJ from Spain "wrote" a song about romanians. He song is named "Me cago en esos Putos Rumanos" ("I'm shitting in all damn romanians"). One hour ago, me and a friend of mine searched the internet about this song and about DJ Syto. Who is DJ Syto? Nobody. An unknown 23 years old DJ from Valencia known as a drogs user, that maybe was looking for some audience.

What makes me sad was the fact that for some reason, 2 DJ's from one of my favorite radio shows from Radio21 Romania (Buzdugan and Morar) were yesterday, more or less, impartial about this racist attitude in the first half of their show dated 06 March 2005. During this time, spanish newspapers and some newspapers from Romania wrote about the fact that DJSyto is an unknown DJ from a small village near Valencia that started his music career making illegal trafic with drogs. Dear Buzdugan and Morar, "a dj from Valencia" is just a poor, unknown DJ from Valencia. A guy that you can lough about not making an entire radio show in wich you can admit that romanians from Spain are for some reason guilty. How many romanians knew this DJ? 2? 10? 50? There are more than 30.000 romanians in Castellon and I'm not talking about the entire Comunidad Valenciana.

The song is quite "interesting" both lyrics and sound showing the "high music education" of this DJ Syto. Lyrics like "I'm shitting in all your deads, I'm shitting in their country, I'm shitting in their nation" makes a song being #1 across internet in 24 hours. Is somehow like all those well-known "Yahoo will stop on a specific date if you don't send this message to at least 100 persons you know" messages.

The unpleasant part of this story is that some bad ideas travel world wide with such a speed that you can't imagine and facts are being unnaturally twisted by people that are sending this "news" and sometime by the press.

Today's blog is about online search engines. An online search engine is a program that search documents for specified keyword and returns a list of the documents where the keywords were found. It is formed by a spider (crawler), who is sent out to get website pages, and an indexer that reads this pages to create a catalog based on the word density contained in each document. As a surfer, search engines are more than important because the internet, in my vision, is like a dark "library" where lights must be turned on. You will never be able to see the entire "library" but using some good search engines you will be able to find the most used/usefull "books" (meaningful results). As a webmaster, submitting your work is part of the job. If you want your site to be found on the Internet you would need to submit it to the most online search engines.

Starcraft - One of the best RTS ever

A real time strategy player that doesn't played Starcraft can't be called a player.
With more than 50 awards during the last 7-8 years Blizzard is capable to say that it owns one of the best strategy game ever. If you search the internet you can even read a GameSpot PC article named "Computer Gaming World awards" dated February 23, 1999! Blilzzard won "Strategy Game of the Year" and "Add-On Product of the Year" with Starcraft.

What I have seen made me write this blog and made me say: Starcraft, ladies and gentlemen, was, is and will be one of the top 3 strategy games ever and Blizard is #1 in building strategy games.

MMORPGs - living online creatures!

A massive(ly) multiplayer online role-playing game or MMORPG is a multiplayer computer role-playing game that enables thousands of players to play in an evolving virtual world at the same time over the Internet. MMORPGs are a specific type of massive(ly) multiplayer online game (MMOG).
You can play them using a console but there are many games that can be played using only a browser and an internet connection. Yes sir! I'm talking about browser based games and guess what! Most of them are free :).
During the last 2 years I can say that browser based games took a big part of my life. I play one game called Kings Of Chaos and I builded 2 browser based games (but this is another story, another blog).
Kings of Chaos, for example, does not make any graphic impresion. Ten, maybe fifteen .jpgs and .gifs and a lot of text. What make him important and world wide known are the players! Being so addictive KoC succeded to host in 2 and a half years more than 100.000 active players and perhaps another ~50.000 curious users. Players are joining alliances. Alliances are building forums, websites, IRC Networks and recruiters to comunicate. IRC chat channels, MSN chats and YM conferences are invided every day by KoC players just to talk about the latest changes, to attack or to sabb other alliance, to join under someone's command or to create great conspirations.
There is no joke in saying that KingsOfChaos it's a living creature that eats a lot of time to be played.Take a look! It wouldn't bite but for sure will steal a little bit of you online leisure ;).

IndyCar Series

I played few days ago "IndyCar Series" an "old" PC Game. One friend of mine buyed some cheap CDs. Takeing a look I saw this game and for 1 full hour I remembered the feeling ;). The truth is that after few years of 3D-Shooters is a little bit hard to return to Indy but indeed was a nice surprise!

If you didn't played the IndyCar Series you can download a free demo following the Codemasters' page. Demo includes one track(Texas Motor Speedway) and two cars (Red Bull Cheever Racing or Pennzoil Panther Racing) and speeds faster than 200 mph. Of course you can buy it online or off-line at no more than 5Euro or 8$

Perhaps you didn't know much about IndyCar Series but you played for sure one of Codemasters' raceing car game: Colin McRae Rally aslo available for download here. This one here costs somewhere around 20$ but is much-much better ;).
